Every year in Turkey, April 23rd is celebrated as the Children’s Day in the memory of the establishment of the Turkey House of Representatives on April 23rd of 1920. On that day, children from all over the world are invited to Turkey, hosted by Turkish families and they introduce their countries by different activities including folkloric dance performances, exhibitions etc.
We, as Lehigh Dialogue Center, have been celebrating April 23rd Children’s Day with a picnic organization which is mostly the first outdoor gathering of the season, where we have a lot of fun activities and gifts for the kids besides the food.
This year, on Saturday, April 23rd we had a picnic again at our place in Bethlehem. Different than the previous years, a Fire Truck from the Bethlehem Fire Department also joined us which was a nice gift for the kids and their parents for sure.
Lehigh Dialogue Center will be organizing similar events for both Turkish and American throughout the spring and summer seasons. You can check our website for future events.
